Nick Holland has spent the last decade focusing on the intersection of mobile, payments, retail and security, working at Mercator Advisory Group, Pyramid Research, Aite Group, Yankee Group and currently at Javelin Strategy and Research, a division of Greenwich Associates.
Nick has spoken and chaired a variety of conferences and events, including GSMA Mobile World Congress, Rutberg Wireless Innovators, Money2020, SXSW and 4GWorld and has appeared in publications and shows including The Wall Street Journal, CNN Money, MSNBC, NPR’s “Marketplace”, Forbes, Fortune, BusinessWeek, Time Magazine, The Economist and the Financial Times.
Nick holds an MSc Degree with Distinction in Information Systems Management from the University of Stirling, Scotland (masters thesis in 2001 was on Bluetooth as a payment technology), and a B.A. Honors degree in Art and Design History from De Montfort University in England.
Outside of all things mobile payments, Nick is a self confessed music snob, with a penchant for British punk, drum and bass and 80’s techno / electronica. He prefer two wheels to four and currently own three bicycles and a classic Ducati 900. Nick enjoys travel and speak French and Russian (poorly). He is still learning American.
